OUR STORY

Monica and Alex met on a fateful day when her beloved cat, Oscar, fell ill.  Alex helped nurse Oscar back to health and fell in love in the process (with Oscar…then Monica).  Although Monica did not hold the sanctity of marriage in high esteem, she could not resist his baby blues.  Eventually the shrew was tamed, and Alex and Monica began connecting over their shared love of travel, food, adventure and cats.  In 2022, on their second anniversary, Alex asked Monica to join him on this strange and wonderful journey that is life and she, never able to turn down a daring adventure, said yes. 

Although there are many differences between them, they are joined together by the love that they share.  Alex loves to cook and Monica, coincidentally, loves to eat.  Monica loves a neat and tidy space while Alex loves to leave his socks around to create meaning and purpose in her life.  They both enjoy collecting stray cats and dancing around the kitchen, like goofy white people in romantic comedies.   

What stands out most is the way in which two seemingly different people have woven a life together slowly over time and across many continents.  From the Cliffs of Moher to the Eiffel Tower, from deep dish pizza and Malort in Chicago to the beaches of Bali.  They have created a life well-lived and full of memories, a life that is more living than existing.
