FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED AT THE WEDDING?
Nope. Borthwick Castle’s walls are 15 ft thick and the sound of a child screaming will be too much to bear. Additionally, the events leading up to the wedding will almost certainly involve pubs/distilleries and the frequent consumption of whisky. In short, leave your lovely wee bairns in the comfort of their homes.
WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED TO BORTHWICK CASTLE?
Yes, transportation will be leaving from Edinburgh (Pickup Location and time TBD closer to the date). If you decide to book travel independently at another hotel, you will be responsible for arriving at the pick up location to ensure transport.
WHAT IS THE ATTIRE FOR THE WEDDING?
The dress code calls for modern-day formal and/or period-piece attire, such as kilts or other traditional highland ensembles. Lassies, please note that the stairs are from the 15th century and are quite slippery so wear comfortable shoes for walking and dancing.
WHAT IS UNDERNEATH A KILT?
Nothing but Scottish neeps and tatties, lads and lassies. Check at your own risk.
